Another worthwhile student group to join is the American Criminal Justice Association (AKA: Lambda Alpha Epsilon). Joining this group can be positive for three main reasons:
1) If a chapter exists at your college/university, you can interact with other CJ students in a combined social and academic setting.
2) The organization puts on national and regional conferences of interest in the criminal justice work field that may prove education and fun for CJ students.
3) Scholastic honor awards (i.e. bullet points on your resume!) are available to students who qualify. For more info, look at the bottom section (SCHOLASTIC HONOR AWARDS) of this page: http://www.acjalae.org/membersh.htm
If your college/university does not currently have a chapter for this organization, you and four other CJ students can start one (see here for more details: http://www.acjalae.org/chapters.htm), or you can be a member-at-large.
