Just make sure any college you go to is REGIONALLY accredited. Do a search on here and you will find out the whole story why.

excelsior College, www.Excelsior.edu , great place that lets you get credits by exam 100% online and if you are in the armed forces the classes and exams are free
My friend's dad got an undergrad degree from American Military University, where I happen to be attending now, and he received his comission in the Navy with it. AMU is nationally accredited, and status pending for regional.Originally Posted by Joeyd6
The problem with natioanl accrediation and not regional, is that some places will not accept the degree!!! So you have a B.S. from a nationally accredited school, but your degree may not be accepted by some employers!
Just be aware!

I am also going through AMU's BS in Criminal Justice, with a focus on LE Ops. I am not worried about the regional national thing... since I was planning on getting ACT 120 certified and applying for a small PA borough's Police Dept.

I went to Roger Williams University's distance program. I found the classes where I had no background rather difficult, because you essentially had to teach yourself. The teachers were there if you had any questions and had no problem helping but there weren't any lectures. The interaction with other students was rather limited. I didn't realize how much I learned from the interaction with other students. The main problem with this university is it is very expensive. They give a good military discount (making it essentially free with TA), but otherwise ouch!
My cousin looked at going to this college but was talked out of it by my uncle because it was too expensive.
I know, it's crazy, Steve!
I can't remember if it's a BA or BS...:p
