Advice regarding classes/degress

Greetings!

I am a senior in highschool this year and I am trying to figure out what I should do for college next year. I have two options: 1) going to a university and getting a four year B.S. degree, then getting a law enforcement certificate and skills or 2) going to a college and getting a A.S Law Enforcement Degree and finishing general credits which I will then use to transfer to a university to finish out two more years of college and end up with a B.S. in Sociology. Getting the generals and A.S. degree is cheaper then going to a university and taking the general credits alone, which is why I prefer it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

As long as you get your degree, no one will discriminate in how you get it accomplished (i.e. pursuing your AS degree first, or going straight into the BS program). Do what's best for you, but take your education seriously and don't give up until you graduate.

I motion the ROS to MOD Project... He's knowledgeable in this aspect of the forum given he has a graduate degree in CJ and is a director of a university CJ program. Most if not all replies in this section include ROS and it makes no sense why he is not one...

What Are Moderators?
Moderators oversee specific forums. They generally have the ability to edit and delete posts, move threads, and perform other manipulations. Becoming a moderator for a specific forum is usually rewarded to users who are particularly helpful and knowledgeable in the subject of the forum they are moderating.

There's really no reason why you have to decide all of this now. Go your first year, take a few CJ and Intro to Soc classes, and see what you like.

When I was a senior, I had a plan just like yourself. But things came up, my mind changed, things like that....

I'm not saying your plan isn't going to work, I'm just telling you something I wish someone would have told me, which is just go in the general direction of what you like (CJ) and see what happens.

I second the "just get your degree"!! I got my associates and then got my Bachelors and am now working on my Masters. Doesn't matter how you do it as long as you do it.

Your educationis very important no matter what you plan on doing in your life. It will be very hard at times but keep at it untill you graduate.
