I was told by another officer that the State of South Carolina lost their accredited status. What does it mean for persons who went through training there and what does it mean for persons who are graduating now. Just curious.

If it's that good it can't be that bad
To be honest, I haven't the first clue what you're referring to. The regional accrediting agency for the Southeast (to include South Carolina) is Southern Association of Colleges & Schools. They still cover SC, as you can see by going to this link (http://www.sacscoc.org), looking up their Membership Directory (on the right), selecting South Carolina in the "By State" look-up, and seeing all the regionally-accredited colleges/universities in SC.Originally Posted by pcsodeputy
Now, if you're referring to LE academies in SC losing LE accreditation (such as through CALEA), I don't know for certain if this is the case or not. However, LE department accreditation is NOT the same a higher education accreditation. This forum on RP is meant to deal with Criminal Justice college programs, not law enforcement accreditation.

Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice.

Just to clarify, Criminal Justice (the topic for this RP forum) is a college major, just as Business, Accounting, Computer Science and many others are. It is not the same as law enforcement academy training.Originally Posted by pcsodeputy
