Advice for schools...

I guess this sort of goes along with the other thread ('Your School'), but I'll post it up anyways.

I'm in the process of looking for schools to transfer to. I'm currently a journalism major at St. Bonavenute Univ. (west NY), and I have taken several classes that will probably transfer over. I've been checking out schools and I'm liking two.

First, here's what I'm looking for:
School in one of the following states: Ohio (preferable), Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania (preferably west), New York (preferably west), possibly Illinois (preferably northeast)

Tuition under $20k (can be a little more, but less=better)

Solid Criminal Justice program (my goal is to become a police officer after college)

The schools I've checked out and liked are (in order) Western Illinois Univ. (really leaning this way, but it's gonna be a pain driving 10 hours to/from home) and Eastern Michigan Univ. I've also looked at Indiana State and Bowling Green State Univ. (Ohio).

If anybody has any more suggestions of schools to check out, I'd really appreciate it.

dang school is expensive up north. Im looking at 2 grand a semester down here.

I would stay as far away from eastern michigan univ as you can. I went there for 2 years and the place is a dunp. It is a small campus located in the ghetto of Ypsilanti, which is a horrible city. When I lived off campus I got used to gun shots at night and waking up to bums in my living room and on my front porch. Also their criminal justice degree isn't all that great.

If you want to be in Michigan look at Ferris State(my school), Grand Valley State University Northern Michigan University and Michigan State University(if your grades can get you in). Those are probably the best in the state. Being under $20k is going to be a stretch no matter where you go because you are going to be paying out of state tuition for at least a year and that gets expensive.

Can't go wrong with Cincinnati. Its a good school after you get used to living in the ghetto

I currently attend Michigan State University, and aside from being a great overall school, the criminal justice program is very good. It gets my seal of approval, but I can't compare it to others. If you can join up and be a Spartan, i'd do it!

I would go to Grand Valley State University....oh, wait...I already did.

GVSU has a very good CJ program and tuition in not too bad.
