OK - though not technically I'm not a CJ major, I am in criminal justice and I am a student again, so funk it.
I just started another class for my degree (MBA) and I hate it already. To start with, the material is not terribly interesting to me. It's just not. But, it's a required course. Secondly, I have weekly homework, which is so 9th grade I can't stand it. I mean, this partiicular course is completely an online one, so there must be something to grade us by, but still - the idea of "homework"... And this homework is real work. You know - MBA and all - the homework should be complex and time consuming. But piss on all that logical stuff.
And finally, the last course I had was a truncated one for the summer - well, at least truncated in that it was 5 weeks instead of 10. The course work, however, was not. In 5 weeks I had to prepare a book report over a book the instructor provided (had 2 days before that was due - welcome!), a 25 page company marketing anaylsis, a 25 page marketing plan with 20 min PowerPoint presentation, interview an executive and prepare a transcription of the interview and a paper detailing key things I learned, and write up a couple short (3 pages) case studies. So, I'm still a tab burned out.
Anyway - that's my ***** for the academic quarter.
I'm with you, im back in school. Last semester I took three courses which was HELL to keep up with, work full time, work off duty jobs, do honor guard details, and handle family crap. This semester, I'm only taking two.
I feel for you.

working 70 hours a week, just switched to nights, and doing about 6 days a week. Going to school full time on top of that. I feel for you. My classes are about 9 sessions each, so I know how it feels trying to get all the work done on time... at least you got it all done...

haha if you hate that, you'd hate my classes.....some of the teachers are really laid back and others are completely nuts with the weekly BS they require you to do....
Been gong to school straight (including summers) with full schedules each semester since 2003.....so ready to be done....

You hate classes with professors that give you BS, and yet are looking forward to going into grad school? Your concept of grad school is WAY off, kitty... trust me! ;)

That's why I didn't go back to school after 9-11. I hated it anyway, I thought it was just a waste of time. I still got into police work without a degree, and I make just a little money as some of my fellow officers that do have degrees. And I don't have any student loans.

This is my second master's. I did a thesis for the first one, before I was the police and was a young and sexy full-time student. Now I'm both older and sexier, and I'm thinking "Do I really need two master's?" :D
