Carjacking suspect's story, like Batman, doesn't fly

Carjacking suspect's story, like Batman, doesn't fly
    Sunday, July 31, 2011
By Sadie Gurman and Mary Niederberger, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Police officers hear a lot of excuses from suspects when they are caught red-handed, but the explanation from a suspected carjacker in Shadyside on Saturday -- that his actions were part of the filming of the new Batman movie -- had to be a new one.

According to a police report, Pittsburgh Detective Robert DiGiacomo was in an unmarked vehicle on Ivy Street about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, looking for a suspect in an assault on nearby Walnut Street, when a man with long hair and a black and gold shirt opened the passenger door, sat down and ordered the officer, who was in plain clothes, to "get out of the car."

Detective DiGiacomo said the suspect fit the description of the assault suspect. Fearing he might be armed, the detective released his seat belt and opened the driver's door, allowing him to draw his gun and order the suspect out of the car.

He wrote that the suspect, Micah Calamosca, 21, of Shadyside, "said that he was just filming the movie Bat Man and that him taking my vehicle was part of the script."

An off-duty Virginia Beach police officer helped Detective DiGiacomo take Mr. Calamosca into custody. He faces a charge of robbery of a motor vehicle.

I'm not Batman, but I play him in the movies....
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine
