Announcement opened up today for CT State Police Trooper and Protective Services Officer exams. You can take one or the other or both in one. I chose to take both in one on 5/20/09.

The application filing period for State Police Trooper Trainee examination will being on April 13, 2009 at 09:00 a.m. (EDT) and will close on April 27, 2009 at 01:00 p.m. (EDT) . During this application filing period, the exam announcement along with an on-line application form will be posted on this Web Site.

Also have the DOC PA Test coming up the 27th ! Cant wait to get that out of the way and onto the Oral Board.

Well good luck to you too, sir. Sit ups, push ups, sit and reach, and a 300-meter sprint shouldnt be too bad. Im a competitive bodybuilder and still quite young, so these PA tests are fun ;) If im not mistaken I think I read one of your other posts where you say your active, and stay in the gym, and thats awesome ! Please man, 40 IS young ! I will deffinitely let you know how the PA goes, and update you on how the candidate list thins out, which it usually does after the PA rolls by...

Anywho, good luck and stay healthy !

Yeah, don't listen to me brother I just like to stress. I am former military and in pretty good shape. I would much rather do the 300 yard sprint than 1.5 mile run. As of last week I have all my times down. But please do let me know how the PA goes - just out of curiosity. :eek:

LOL, I hear ya on the stressing. Stressing is a bad habit of mine as well. Im also with you on the 300 meter spring over the long distance running, man do I hate the long distance ! Ill let ya know how it goes !

Excellent job, my friend! I am so sick of training - I just want to get it over with and move on to the interview. I spoke with a current CO last weekend who said the hiring standards are not all that hard and as long as you have no major issues in your past you should be in. Best of luck in the oral and keep in touch!

PASS! Sit and reach was a joke. Had to do 27 sit-ups and did 30, had to do 15 push-ups and did 39 (thanks to always being in trouble in the Navy and having to hit the deck!) and I ran the 300m in just 60 seconds - 17 seconds shy of my 77 second limit but not as fast as you. :( But not bad for an old man almost 20 years older! :D

Let's hope things go fine with the State budget issues and we go to work!
