Congrats to CBP LEOs
Word on the street is that US Border Patrol Agents and US Customs and Border Protection Officers are getting journeyman salaries up to GS-12 (a pretty big bump from their previous GS-11 top-out pay).
For the BPA's and CBPO's on here, congrats on a long-fought battle for better pay.
Only thing I haven't seen addressed is what if anything is going to happen for the current supervisors who are already GS-12's???
I'm sure sometype of upgrade will come for the current supervisors but if not I can see a rash of people bumping back down...no wait staying the same GS-12 level.
I am pleased to announce that we will be raising the Journeyman level for our dedicated CBP personnel who serve on the front lines, day in and out, along our borders and ports of entry across the country.
This important milestone recognizes that the mission of our CBP Officers, Agriculture Specialists, and Border Patrol Agents has become increasingly more dangerous and complex since September 11, 2001. On a daily basis, our CBP employees are bolstering our efforts to secure the border, assisting Mexico in targeting violent drug cartels, and confronting an ever expanding array of threats to our country’s security—from terrorism and organized crime; to weapons, drug and human smuggling; to threats to our domestic agriculture and food sources; to fraudulent products that pose safety threats and undermine U.S. industries.
We anticipate making this increase effective during the first quarter of Calendar Year 2010.
Congratulations again on this well-deserved recognition—we are truly grateful for your service.
Congrats, but teh G is giving you a back-handed pay raise.....
I hate when the G plays games! Give all LEO'S a GS-13 as journeyman. Stop d'ing around. IRS-CID, CBP, USMS, etc.... Its a post 9/11 world and everyone is working hard at their potential. Give them the damn money they deserve.
For Pete's sake, the CBP at JFK, EWR and LGA airport are busting their humps working their rear off while the PAPD stand nearby watching and being honest, doing 80% less work. Yet they get almost double the pay.

I'm a fan of the PAPD, they've handled the past three calls I got before I even got there, handed me the info and forwarded the report. No complaints in my book
They are ridiculously well paid, I didn't realize how well until I had a convo with one the other week. I'd like to be on their next list!
