    PAT Questions

    Good afternoon everyone!!!

I just received my phone call to schedule my physical and PAT test. My question is regarding the push-up and sit-up portion of the PAT.

    1) On the video supplied in my packet, you have to have your chest touch a 4" tall foam block, is this how the PAT is administered? Do you have to completely touch the block with your chest to make that push up count?

    2) On the video during the sit-up portion it really does not tell you if your chin needs to touch your knees or just your elbows for the sit-up to count, which is it?

    3) Has anyone had their screening done at US Healthworks in Murrietta, CA? If so, how strict are they? Do they provide some slack if you don't touch the block with your chest, lets say your a 1/2" away and go up will they count it?

All of your input is appreciated and valued.

Thank you sooo much and be safe!!

    Vary easy test

    1. Yes, they do use a foam block. And yes, you do need to touch it every time for the push up to count. You have 2 min to do 20. Not a difficult task. A real push up would be your chest touching the ground every time, so a 4” foam block is a gift.
    2. The way the tester explained it to me was that( on the sit-up) my back had to come to the vertical plane.
I hope that helps. If any part of the PT test is hard for you , than you need to PT like crazy to get ready for the academy. Use all the time you have.
