Anyone have an estimate of getting on board after all the testing requirements have been met? I already have homeland sec. background (previous jobs) and work as current cop. What is usual time before getting call for academy date?

You are being extremely vague. No one can even attempt to answer that with the information you've provided - or lack thereof for that matter.
I'm going to assume you're referring to either a CBPO or USBP position. We have a few of each and I'm sure someone will be along shortly.
Until then, please try to revise your post to include at least the minimum information required for someone to answer your question.

Steve
Curious. You claim a homeland security background and claim to be a cop right now.
If you had a sworn position(s) in the Department of Homeland Security and were currently employed as a sworn Law Enforcement Officer for an agency, why would you not already know a rough estimate on how long it would take to get to the academy?
Sorry, but the BS meter is pegged in brown on your post.

Steve, I intentionally tried to be brief and not post a resume. The recruiters and HR give differing estimates on how long before an academy date is given (I know there are a lot of variables) however, I was trying to get a narrowed estimate from someone who is aleady in (USBP), knows the environment and probably have friends/co-workers that are getting on board or recently went through the process. And yes Sierra (as to your pegged brown meter), REAL City/County/gov "Police Officers" do refer to themselves as "Cops" and it is possible to work & hold different LEO positions, with multiple clearances, from seperate governmental agencies. It is called experience.
