What happened to all of the Patriot Act requirements for banking/fiancial transasctions?

I can add BOA to my list of reasons why illegal immigration is only going to grow.

    Other reasons:
    - the employers willing to hire them

    - the laws that allow them to receive free medical benefits and schooling

    - the politicians that won't do anything about it simply because they fear losing votes

    - the fact that 2 Border Patrol agents were convicted and sentenced to 10+ years of prison time for not reporting a shooting while the illegal alien they shot at (who also happens to be a known drug smuggler) was granted immunity to testify against them along with free medical care!

Why wouldn't you want to be an illegal immigrant? It seems that non-citizenship is rewarded these days.

Don't forget Foo Man that the drug smuggler is suing for $5 million. Meanwhile, our border agent is getting assaulted in prison.
This whole issue upsets me as I have friends that have LEGALLY immigrated here from Mexico and Guatemala. They are wonderful people, highly educated, tax paying citizens who contribute alot to our community. But people don't give them a chance because they think they are illegal or beneath us. Frustrating.

While I understand everybody's frustration with Bank of America, I think they should be commended as their new program may help reduce identity theft. (Because the illegal immigrants will not be inclined to make up a social security number when applying for an account.) If Bank of America's program proves to be profitable, more power to them -- they are serving a segment of our population while making a profit. Banks are not responsible for causing illegal immigrants to leave the country -- that's our government's government's responsibility, and apparently our government has chosen not to take its responsibility seriously.

As a former credit card bank manager I will give my two cents.

They are not doing this as a profit making venture, rather the intent is to offset losses and protect other customers as was mentioned once in this thread. If you can welcome an illegal to purchase a certain type of service rather than mix in with the rest of the customers then the company can more accurately monitor risk and take measures to further offset said risk in the future.

They're throwing murder one at another BPA... I can't link but search Agent Nicholas Corbett. The witnesses just happen to be the "victims" family who were being detained for being UDA's. So much for unbiased witnesses.

ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!! You have legal immigrants who can get to wait for about a year (or longer) because the USCIS are swamped to get their I-765 (Application for Employment Authoriazation) approved. Meanwhile they do everything they can to stay on their feet, ususally through welfare and all they want is to be able to get off it and make an honest living through working. They stay legal, don't accept any payments for work, they dedicate their time by volounterring (some) and wait patiently and are ABSOLUTELY THRILLED when they get approved. It's BS and unfair that illegal immigrants are able to get that kind of social staus, such as a credit card, to those who does it the "right" way.

They things some people do to get around the system.... and for what? Money? I sure despise the truth behind the saying: "Money talks, BS walks." The scary thing is that they do it without a blink to what it does to Homeland Security. They may have a neighbor or someone else they may not know, but it happens in their city/town that gets violated, subject for assault, battery, crim sex, murder or gets injured in a car accident, at fault of an illegal immigrant with no insurance, no legal status - zit. They get upset about that, throw their frustration over it onto not only the illegal immigrants, but all, whether legal or not and that without realizing they are actually supporting it by offering those services to illegal immigrants.

At least the ones who goes through the process legally, got a clean counscious.

    Wow

I can't believe what i'm reading. I agree credit cards should not be given out to people without the proper documents. Everyone in here are just against illegal immigrants. When will you guys realize that illegal aliens are people too. I hope everyone would just sit back and think about this. Imagine your parents brought you here as a young child from another country. The only culture you've learned your whole life was american. How can you adjust yourself if you were to be deported. I can honestly say most of these illegal aliens probably love our country more than we do. If the US military were to have a military draft gauranteed to give you citizenship. You would see millions of people jumping the border to sign up!! All I want to say to you guys is please don't discriminate or think that this is a laughing matter. I'm tired of people pointing fingers towards illegal aliens just because our economy isn't doing so well.

I'll admit it- I am against illegal immigrants. Whew- It feels a lot better to finally come out and be honest with myself and everyone else!

(btw- anyone who knows me for more than 10 min knows I am against illegal immigration- having that opinion is not a bad thing)

You make it sound as if being against illegal immigration is like being a member of NAMBLA.

When will you guys realize that illegal aliens are people too
Of course with your logic NAMBLA are "just people too" and we should overlook the illegal things they do.

They are people who have broken the law- do you not understand the "illegal" part in the term "illegal immigants?"

I admit they came here illegally. The thing is I don't like how people treat illegal aliens. It's just an excuse to be prejudiced.

I don't like how illegal aliens come here and drain our resources. I don't need an excuse to be prejudiced. I am prejudiced against people who refuse to follow the rules and benefit, while the rest of us work our a##es off so they can.

If you can't deal with that, I suggest you try the iloveillegalaliens website.
