    Question about citizenship

I am born in Sweden and still have my Swedish Citizenship. I have been living in the United States since I was about 6 and now I'm 18. I was just wondering, if I get a dual citizenzship, I can still become a cop right?

Short answer, yes. The U.S. doesn't recognize dual citizenship by the way, not when it comes to U.S. and a competing citizenship.

Couple of questions concerning your post... Big is correct in one aspect ... the United States does not recognize dual citizenship.... if you came to this country with your parents ... they applied for US citizenship, they should have applied for you.... Unless one of your parents is a US citizen ... you have to apply for United States citizenship as a stand-alone. Living in the United Stated since the age of six does not make a US citizen... Many LE departments will consider your application for employment if you are have gone through the process to be a US citizen...

Technically Big response has one error.... all enrolled American Indians are considered to have dual citizenship.... All federally recognized American Indian Tribes are Sovereign Nations (even within the exterior boundaries of the United States).... Technically American Indians have dual citizenship with their enrolled tribe and the United States.

Technically yes, but who would argue that native Americans are anything but American, not Big. They do have original title ownership.
