State and local authority to enforce immigration laws

In case you did not already know it. State and local officials can enforce immigration laws and even detain people suspected of being here illegally. This is a great article that explains the legal basis:

But will the Feds feel like their toes are being stepped on? The ICE office on my side of the State would be great with this. The One Bearcat has to deal with on the other side I'm bettin would pitch a hissy fit.

I think it's a great idea. I don;t think there should be laws that are off limits to enforce.

That is a shame. It is odd that you would be prevented from investigating violations of federal law. Personally, my investigations into resident status allow me to catch more law violators, seize fraudulent Resident Alien cards and drivers' licenses, and gather intel related to gangs and narcotics.
