^^^ It's the boyfriend who gave her a Kindle. (Tonight he's in the dog house though because he wanted to be near her while watching the game and also asked her to watch his four kids?)

Did you make the sandwich when he asked? He probably followed you because he thought you brought his sandwich into the other room by mistake. Next time just leave it on the coffee table and try to do it without blocking the TV.

Here's fair notice: Divisional playoff games come once a year. Mark it on your calendar. It happens next year too.

Here's a few other football dates so you'll know how to plan your stuff:
    1. Wild card playoff weekend.
    2. Confernce playoff weekend
    3. Superbowl week
    4. His favorite teams away games (8 sundays)
    5. His favorite teams home games (8 sundays where he attends them in person, please allow an 3 hours for tailgating)
    6. Monday Night football. (17 Sunday nights, although some may be skipped liked Cardinals/49ers)
    7. BCS national championship game
    8. Rose Bowl, Sugar bowl, Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl (various days).
    9. NFL First Round Draft day
    10. SEC Chamionship Game
    11. Big Ten Championship game
    12. Michigan vs. Ohio State
    13. Notre Dame vs. USC
    14 Nebraska vs. Oklahoma
    15. Texas vs. Oklahoma
    16. Florida State vs. Miami (that's all the good schools I can think of)

Now football is one of the sports with the smallest schedule. After football, there is the NBA and NHL (no point in actually watching these until superbowl is complete but sometimes people need a transition to make sure they are up to full speed when the superbowl ends). In March there is the NCAA March Madness as well as Spring Training for Baseball. Beginning of April marks Opening Day for MLB baseball which is a must. Baseball can then be ignored until after the Stanley Cup with the exception of Yankees/Red Sox. In April/May/June we have the NBA and NHL playoffs. July features the MLB all-star game as well as the runup to the always intense player trade deadline. After the Stanley cup and NBA finals, Baseball is it until NFL preseason in August. Septmember marks NFL regular season as well as the MLB roster expansion which is a must see to evaluate the teams for next year. Alternativel, ther e is NHL and NBA preseason. In October it is critical to see NBA opening, Baseball Playoffs, NFL key matchups, NHL Opening Night and NCAA College Footbal start of BCS rankings. This can easily extend into November.

Now just plan your nonsense around that and you should be good.

If you have a gas oven, this works well. Blow out the pilot light, turn the gas on, hold the little critter's head in there until they go to sleep, remove immediately and throw on the couch. They will wake up with a head ache, but you will get your homework done.

ps Make sure to relight the pilot light before you fix your husband his dinner.

Pilot light? for the oven? Someone needs to load up the wagon, hitch the team, and take a trip to the museum. Stop at Home Depot on the way back.

if the gas makes you uncomfortable, you can try hyperventilation. This is what the seventh graders taught is when I was in fifth grade. Have them bend over at the waist and take ten deep breaths. On the eleventh breath have them go rapidly to full upright. Grab them around the chest as they hold their breath. Guaranteed pass out.

Or you can give them benadryl. With vodka chasers.
