    Police Academy Graduation Gift Ideas?

Hello. My fiancee is graduating from the Police Academy soon, and I was looking for gift ideas. I think I know what I want to get him, but I thought it would be good to hear some of your input. This is such a special day for him, so I want to get him something that really will mean a lot to him.

    Thanks!

one 'option' would be to get him a backup weapon. IMO if he were smart he'd appreciate it much more than any gift I can think of.

on a side note, that's what I'm being given as a gift.

Some of the equipment that he might want to have but that the dept may not issue.

    A small but powerful flashlight
A pouch for latex gloves ( we deal with bloody people sometimes)
    A leatherman tool
A kevlar vest although MOST dept's now supply them
    An extra set of handcuffs
An aluminum clipboard with a storage compartment for blank forms

I would not suggest a good watch or an engraved pen. Watches get torn up on duty ( I use cheap Timex watches ) and pens get lost.

A few things that I have picked up over the years that have come in handy:

Good pair of polarized sunglasses, my preference is Revo
Rechargeable flashlight, either a duty light as mentioned or a small tactical flashlight
XM or Sirius radio, if allowed by Dept policy
    Digital camera
Vehicle/Trunk organizer or duty bag if they don't have take-home cars

Officially....maybe, I've had one for about a year. About two months ago they said that satellite radios have been interfering with our VG2's. SO they have suspended the use of satellite radios in the cars until they complete a study. I have a VG2 and never had a false alert from my satellite radio, at least that I know of.
