Proud to be an officer's wife......

My husband and I have been together for three years. He has been an officer for seven years. The long days and hours were hard to get used to and still are at times. When I stop and think of why he is there changes my perspective on things. My husband is the only one I can truly count on in my life in good times and in bad. I have the utmost respect for him as a person and in what he does as a career choice. I have had to sacrifice relationships with various members of my family because of what he does. He is the most important person in my life and I don't mind putting my family on the back burner for him. I was just wondering if there were any other law enforcement spouses that feel such a strong desire to stick by their other half the way that I do.

    Thanks sweetheart........

Thank you, sweetheart for the nice things you said. If everyone out there hasn't figured it out yet, 110s one half is my wife and I am one of the lucky ones to have a loving and very supportive wife. I am a firm believer in the idea, especially in law enforcement, that if a man (or woman) doesn't have a supportive spouse, there's no way you can be successful and happy in your career. I thank God that she's here and that I have her love.

:p I have been married to my husband for 13 years. He has been a Deputy for only a few years. He was 18 when we got together.
My family always loved him. Well we noticed that when he became an officer all of a sudden they got wierd.
They don't call verry much unless they have a law question.
They were'nt real thrilled when we told them he was going to the academy. But that really boils down to what there doing not hubbie.
The hours are long and we live in a small town so everyone knows him. It's hard to go out and eat and not see someone he has arrested.
But he's mine and i love him. Anyone one who can't deal with it that's too bad.
Family or not because he's my family.

Tarra, congradulations....you sound really happy and I think its great that you and your husband can find strength in one another; your very lucky!!! Your situation strikes a cord with what I'm presently going through....I'm finishing off school and presently making arrangements to apply to the academy; already "friends" that I have known for years are starting to pull away and my family is not as supportive as I would have otherwise imagined. My g/f, my best friend, is even starting to pull away. Yet, despite this I think I have the strength to cope...I kind of envy you that you have a partner to share the strain with.
    Take Care.....Athas.

Well let's see here. My hubby and I have been married now almost 7 years. Been together for 9 now all total. He was an Army MP when I met him and his goal was to go home and be a cop. I have always stood by him proudly and I always will. He got out of the Army became a cop and has been on the force for 5 years now. He is an awesome cop and I love him with all my heart. I am proud of him.

I have been with my LEO for 5 years, he's only been an officer for 2. Although the thought of marrying a police officer terrifies me, I must say that I've never been more proud of anybody in all my life, and I am willing to sacrifice my fears to be with the one I love.
I proudly wear his badge around my neck and (soon!) his ring on my finger.

To all the other police wives/gf/fiance's out there, I look up to you for your courage and strength. Our LEO's arent the only ones who deserve the recognition!

110 & his half...thank you for posting. I thought you both were very beautiful in your words to each other. I feel as though I have been very blessed with who I married. "Batman" has been in LE for over 13 years and I've been with him for almost 11 of them. I think the strangest thing is that I was initially, when we first met, worrisome by nature but because he was so sure of himself, I have never worried about him. I can't even recall one time. You know, the hours never even bothered me. I knew that he was well trained, confident, and smart enough to not take any unnecessary risks. I just count my blessings and let God work his magic through him. He is an amazing man, the best I've ever met. He's good at what he does and I admire him for that. With all of his successes and progressions up the career ladder, he has always told me that he never would've made it without my love and support. My usual response is,"I'm sorry honey, did you say something?" Then he repeats himself and I get to hear it again. *smiles mischievously**

I just wanted to say how much I admire all of you. I have no connections with law enforcement - just a nosey civilian.
May you always find new roads to travel, new horizons to explore, and new dreams to call your own.

I think I saw it mentioned on another website, but I'm not sure which one. I find lots of interesting things that way. When I see something new I click on it. Like I said, I'm nosey.
