Background for NYPD

Hello,

Here is my story. I am applying to NYPD and wanted to see what your honest opinions are. I should start the process in January of 2014 so I still have time.

I graduated college with a bachelors degree. And now going for my masters in criminal
justice or police administration, haven't decided yet, but nonetheless going to get my masters. I took an adderall pill once at age of 18, for driving I saw it as a caffeine kind of thing and did not realize at the time the severity of it. This is where I am very concerned and nervous and afraid my chances are doomed. The time they will see me it would of been over 5 years ago. I never done any type of drugs like marijuana nothing, besides this one incident which was a poor error, but it was like a minute of my life i wish i can take back. I also socially drink, i like to have a few beers with the guys while watching football or going to bars, but never to the point where i needed help or blacked out.

No arrests, no tickets, no accidents, no psych issues, girlfriend for long time, great family no issues there, and jobs through college, and looking for a full time job as soon as I graduate. So, the issue again is that adderall pill and I am freaking out.
