State: NJ
I live in a small 9,000 resident community (1.3 sq miles).
I have made other threads about the subject of part-timing, but now I received a phone call from the mayor, and he seems interested in listening to me.
On Friday I am driving up from school to meet with him. I plan on wearing a full suit, with my resume, and recommendation letters from the PD I interned with.
My uncle (in the field) said for me not to bring my paperwork on numbers, or anything of that sort. He said just to explain myself with confidence and how I can divorce myself from relationships in the community to uphold the law.
He gave me some great advice, but do any of you have any other things I should say, ask, do to make myself as appealing as possible? The Chief is shooting for me, but as you all know it is the council who makes the decision.
Thank you
