Participation in legal pornography - dealbreaker?

Weh I was in college I did a few "art films". These were legal, documented jobs. I signed government paperwork as well as submitted photo identification.

I'm pretty sure this will fail my background check if I decide to apply for law enforcement.

    What do you guys think?

I would hate to think that if this surfaced after getting hired it would cause some kind of embarrassment or scandal to the department.

Should I even bother trying? or am I screwed?

Oh I should also mention that except for one speeding ticket, I have a clean record.

I really don't know any more. Years back I used to run into a Sergeant on a large Los Angeles Area PD (200 sworn) who used to be a nude dance in a gentlemen's club before she got hired. She was up front about what she did, her profession was lawful and they picked her up.

Yeah, I would. It's hard to say. Back in the 70's, we hired a woman who used to be a topless dancer. Actually, she turned out to be a pretty good cop and retired honorably. But if you were involved in sex acts, I dunno. A possible concern would be that defense lawyers could find out about it and use it to try to discredit you to a jury on the stand in criminal trials. But I'm just guessing.

If it was leagl you are fine. Nothing against it1 I know a FAm who was a Chipendale Dancer. If it was legal and consenting and paid on the books and you claimed it on your taxes...it was a job. Nothing more. Don't worry!

A guy in my academy was a rent-a-stripper just prior to getting appointed. His job knew about it.

    Honesty is very important.

Guys, would the fact that a "dancer" seldom has a film record of their activities be the reason those tend to not be a problem?

    Not if it's legal.
