I don't know about now, but USSS agents used to even wear the same color suits when they were on a protection detail. I worked with them when Mondale was in town once and made a crack to a couple if J. C. Penney's had a sale on gray pinstriped suits. They didn't think it was nearly as funny as I did.

If I had to give a "general" description of most feds I worked with, I'd have to use the word patronizing. Get what they can from this poor, dumb local and then go out and do something really important that I wouldn't understand.

Not the USSS on protection duty though. They made it clear that they had no time for my BS. But I have to say that I was incredibly impressed at the way they did their job. The most professional LE people I have ever seen anywhere, federal, state or local.
