Do I have ANY shot at passing backgrounds?

I know every title here is the same but I can't find specifics to my situation so I apoligize for asking the same question again.

These are items I am taking from the background questionnaire. It was VERY long nearly 200 question in all kinds of catergories. Do they really ask this much on the polygraph?

Currently I am 29.

1. Incest - I was molested by my older brother when I was 10-12 years old. Never spoke about this and I really don't want to.
2. Beastiality - When I was roughly 10-12 years old, I rubbed a male dogs genitals on one occasion. This answer scares me.
3. I was involved in a fight when I was 10-12 years old. No injuries. Kid stuff.
3. I ran away from home for 2-3 days when I was 12 years old.
4. When I had run away, I shoplifted at a super market. Approx value $3.
5. I entered and vandilized a vacant home at 12 years old. Spray painted walls. No record.
6. In the same year, I skipped school and I entered a second vacant home and a puppy we had with us soiled the carpet, vandalizing the home.
7. I stole money/goods from an employer when I was 16. $20 or $40 cash, and a $15-20 item, single occasion. This one scares me! 14 years ago.
8. I smoked marijuana once when I was 16. No other drug activity.
9. When I was 18, I had sex in my car, in a park. A deputy told us to move along.
10. About 5 years ago, I had sex on a back porch of my apartment - nobody saw. (sex in an exposed place).
11. I called out of work when not sick (who hasn't?). I don't have a history of tardy or absences.
12. As a child and adult I have been guilty of cyber sex - nothing recent.
13. As an adult, I have been guilty of "false impersonations" online.
14. As an adult, I have "hacked" into accounts online for viewing purposes only, no intent to harm.
15. As an adult, I have provided false information (income) on credit applications.
16. About 2-4 years ago I had pushed and slapped my husband on maybe 3 occasions. This is the one that REALLY scares me.
17. I have lost my temper before. See above.
18. My neighbors probably don't like me since I have complained about barking dogs but that's it.
19. I have had a few speeding tickets. Maybe 5 over my adult life.
20. My credit score is ok/good. I'd have to check again, but I believe it is low 700's. I have one ding.. a charge off, not even a 30 day late anywhere else.

I have no criminal record. For the juvenile vandalism I got 30 hours community service at my junior high school but there was no court involved. It was something given by the deputy at my school.

Do I have ANY shot at some day becoming a law enforcement officer, somewhere? Right now is open enrollement for my next modular academy and I don't know what to do. I really did think I was a good person with a definite shot in this field. Now I've dismissed having any shot after filling out this background questionnarie... but maybe, somehow I might pass and go on? I have absolutely no intention of lying during the polygraph, but being so honest is making me nervous that my dream is now over.

Bear in mind I'm not a background investigator but the ones that stick out to me the most are 13-17. What do you mean by "false impersonations?"

The stuff you did as a kid is kid stuff. The theft could be a red flag but I would be more concerned about the things you have done as an adult.

Being a victim is never a DQ. At the least you need to seek counseling for being molested as a child.

False impersonations - Basically creating a fake social profile and talking to someone anonomously. Soemthing I didn't see as illegal, just stupid. It was asked in the packet (wow, they are thorough!).

When I sat down with this packet I thought the only thing bad that was gonna come up was that I pushed/slapped my husband years ago but now I see all this and I feel horrible and that my dream is over. I'd raise an eyebrow to some of this. Just not sure which are DQ's.

The molestation issue is not an issue for me at all. Call it denial, I don't know but I am a perfectly adjusted adult. It was so long ago, that I didn't even remember it til I read the question. My brother and I get along just fine. I don't feel weird around him and I don't look at him with hatred or disgust. Honestly, I just don't think of it. There is nothing in my life that is "off" that would serve as an explanation for being hurt as a child. I will definitely be honest about it during the background/poly because I don't want to lie but it's definitely not an issue for me, at all, and I know I would pass any medical psych evaluation.

The way I am looking at it is you have admitted to pushing and slapping your husband 2-4 years ago and then then in the next statement you said that it was when you lost your temper. Police departments will look at this as if she loses her temper on the street with a person, we get sued. This country lives off of lawsuits these days and they may not want to take that gamble.

The false impersonation thing I don't see as a big deal, but the hacking thing is. Hacking is a crime whether you intend on doing harm or not. The point was you illegally accessed something that you weren't supposed to access.

The main thing is you were honest. It will make your life easier.

I think you are right about the pushing/slapping issue. I do intend to be fully honest and just see where it takes me. I believe this is the only situation that has ever made me "lose my temper". I've never even had any real heated arguements as an adult.

I know my chances are not great, not even good... but if i have even a shot... I want to pursue it and enroll in the academy next month.
