I would appreciate if anyone could comment on my particular situation? It's been ten years since my discharge from the NAVY. I received an Honorable Discharge but in the narrative reason for separation says personality disorder.
This was due to a psycological evaluation done after being deprived of suficient sleep for two weeks. I was sleeping an average of two to three hours a day at the most while underway for training excercises. The reason for such punishment. I brought to the attention of my supervisor that all the junior enlisted personel under him where using drugs (marijuana, heroin). What I didn't know was that my supervisor was also using. So I went to the top of his sh*t list.
I beleive any sane human being would have verbalized wanting to kick his supervisors a*s under the same circumstances. That was enough to be labeled an individual with a personality disorder by the NAVY shrink. In less than five days I was on my way home. During the year and a half that I was active, I received comendation letters from the CO for exemplary perfomance, above average evaluations and had absolutely no disciplinary actions against me.
Assuming no other negative situations in my past, I would appreciate it if someone could tell me if this single incident would disqualify me from becoming an NYPD PO? Do background investigators take into considerations the details? Thanks
