    Quick question about background investigation

New to the site. Really enjoy reading everyone's posts. It's been very informative. Thanks.
As I'm sure I'll have many more questions throughout the process of trying to become an officer, my only question right now is if my wife or sister's (the two adults actively present in my life) backgrounds (legally and financially) will affect my own background investigation? Does their history, especially that of my spouse, affect my chances of becoming an officer or are they even questioned?? Your feedback is appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Chris.

Your sister's will have no effect, depending on your association with her. Your wife is a different matter. You'll have to be more specific, I'm afraid.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine
