Would attending a citizens police academy have any impact in the hiring process?
I figure it can't look bad; it may help if I was in the running for the dept the academy was in.

Couldn't hurt...shows that you are interested and you will be a familiar face. We've had two citizen academy folk go on to fulltime positions-one with our department and one with the Sheriffs office.
