NYPD Medical Question

I am new to this site and I have a question. I appreciate all responses.
I applied to be a PO for the NYPD back in 1998 and was accepted but turned it down because I was starting a new career in the exciting world of computers. Now the computer world has turned sour and I have always regretted my decision. I am reapplying and need to go through the whole process again. The good part is I know what to expect. My question is that last time they gave me a hard time on the medical because I have Crohn's disease. Do they keep the records from that many years ago? Also can they look into my recent medical hist. to find out any current problems? I am trying to avoid the hassles involved with the medical unit. They can be a real pain! I made it through the BG last time and haven't had so much as a parking ticket since.
