questions about what to do next

I posted in an earlier thread about my background. But as a little refresher, here's my background:

Pros-

-I haven't had any tickets since 2006(I always took care of my tickets whether paying the fine or traffic school)
-I have never done drugs ever
-Rarely drink alcohol, hate beer
-Never been arrested
-Excellent credit history
-BS degree in Management
-No domestic violence ever
-10 solid years currently working with my company
-CPR certification

Cons-

- I stole when I was a kid: candy, toys, petty stuff. (Forgot to note that I did steal some food from my old employer in 1999 which I did note in my backgrounds)
- I got fired once in 2000
- I received a downloaded file of child porn back in 2000 as well, but didn't know until I ran the clip. After a few seconds, I deleted it.

My question is since it is tough competition out there, I understand that self sponsoring can be a crap shoot, but would it help solidify me when completed versus where I am at now? My other thing I was planning on doing was taking a Spanish language course to help me out.
Is my background ok even? Anything I need to do that I am missing?

As long as you don't have a drinking problem who cares, and whether you hate beer or love is also a "who cares" sort of thing.

That's not really something to give yourself a brownie point on, that's what you're supposed to do.

Interesting, as child pornography doesn't download itself, and legal adult porn sites don't contain illegal child porn. How did you "receive" it? Where did you download it from, and how did you not know before viewing the clip that the file contained child porn?

So I downloaded a bunch of files using porn search terms. So I ran clip by clip, as everything was fine until I saw this one, so like I said earlier, after a few seconds I deleted it

I'm not ignorant of P2P downloading and child pornography, worked many cases of CP. You don't just type in "porn" into Limewire (or whatever P2P program you used) and magically get CP, you have to use specific search terms. So what search terms did you use?

Obviously you don't have to answer my question here, but expect to be asked the same questions if you apply to a police agency. Just a heads-up, your "it just happened" excuse above won't cut it.
