    Attendance Record and Reference Forms

    Hi All,

I'm currently in the hiring process for a police department. Some of the documents they need to see are notarized copies of my last 3 years attendance record. I called my employer and they told me they won't give out this information due to company's policy. So how can I get this from my employers?

They also gave me a Human Resource Data Form that I need to give to my job supervisor to fill out regarding my job performance. My supervisor was laid off and his manager retired. How can I contact him now and have him fill out the form?

There is also a Neighbor Reference Form that I need to give to my neighbors to fill out. Both of my neighbors on the left and right of my house foreclosed and moved away. The new neighbors moved in a week ago. I asked them if they could filled out the form. But they all told me they don't understand english well enough to fill out the form for me.

Wow, just a ton of problems here, huh? Guess you're gonna have to do some figuring out, or as Gunny Highway used to say in Heartbreak Ridge, "Improvise, adapt, overcome!"

    1) If your current employers won't provide that information, then there's not much you can do. Pass it on to your BI that you contacted them and their policy states they don't give out that info. Maybe the BI can get them to give him an idea, but if that is their policy, there's nothing much anyone can do. I know for a fact that WalMart has the same policy, they will only verify dates that a person worked there, nothing about the character of their work as long as they left on good terms.

    2) Do a little homework thru the HR of the company you are working for now. Find a number to contact your previous supervisor or the manager. I'm sure you can do it if you try.

    3) Does the form say it MUST be your next door neighbors? Are yours and the other two houses the only ones in your neighborhood? Try going to the people on the other sides of those that are new or have moved away. Maybe they've been around more than a day or two and speak English?

These are pretty easy problems to take care of if you think about it. What are you going to do when you're faced with a really stressful situation and a very tough choice that you have to make in a split second? Because that's what your applying for.

    Just my two cents...
"Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have made a difference in the world. Marines don't have that problem." - Ronald Reagan

Have you contacted your Background Investigator and asked him or her these questions?

As to your second question... Who is in charge of you at work? You must report to someone, someone is in charge of you... right?
