    Fingerprint Live Scan

I got a Live Scan today for a job opportunity and was wondering what might show up when they do my background check. I have never been arrested or taken into custody for anything but I did get a weed ticket about 18 months ago with less than a gram on me. I went to court, paid the fine, and got it off my record. When my possible employer looks at the results will my ticket be on there? I live in california if that makes any difference on what shows up. I could really use some good info

I worked California but retired a few years ago. When I was working departments were required to remove any mentioning of the word "marijuana" on reports, etc when the offense was for possession of < 1 oz. It became a word game on our reports. I am only guessing but I suspect it won't show up if it was > 18 months ago...but it might. Plus it depends on how thorough of background the employer is conducting. By the way, a cite and release is an arrest and custody situation. You were just released on your written promise to appear instead of booking. Just so you are clear on this.

On a side note...you were cited for < 1 gram? 1 gram is 1/26th of an ounce. That made me chuckle. I used to give people the choice of a ticket or to dump their weed and grind it into the sidewalk with their heels. I dont recall an instance where a person chose the ticket but one guy almost started crying when he dumped his weed. I did cite a guy once for 'possession of less than a bong hit', so it can happen I guess.

Yea, no joke the amount i had left when i was pulled over was about the size of the quarter. I walked out of a Rite Aid from just getting a water and just as I crossed to parking a lot an undercover drove by. I got in my car and left the lot, as soon as I was out the cop got behind me turned on his lights and I puled right back into the lot. He said he pulled me over for no front license plate. I didn't have a front license plate but I'm sure some of it was profiling.

Yea the notice I got in the mail didn't say marijuana anywhere. If the report doesn't say marijuana and just possession is there anything else I could say it was?

I dont know but even < 1g is a righteous cite. Keep clean and your background will clean itself up over time.

Where not here to tell people to lie, if you're looking for that try DefenseAttorneys.com. If you don't have the integrity to own up to your past wrongdoings, find someone else to advise you to compromise your moral compass.

I wouldn't recommend lying to a prospective employer...
