Hey everyone,
I'm curious about a part of the background investigation process, and I'd like to know what I may be in store for if I get to that point in either a LEO or military hiring process.
During college I was around pot-smoking twice. In neither case did I actively remove myself from the situation, which was probably dumb, but that's not really what I'm worried about (I did not smoke it myself). I assume if I am asked about this they may ask who I knew that was smoking.
One of the people smoking was a friend. I doubt that they would bring charges against someone even if it was last week, but should I worry about it getting back to the person by them being visited by someone to ask about it?
My choices are only really to either warn the person, not worry about it, or not apply for positions that require that sort of background check. In other words, I'm not going to lie and say I've not been around pot, but I'd just like to know what the consequences might be for me and others, if it's not something that I shouldn't be told.
Thanks!
