    Am I a good applicant?

I'm currently 15, going on 16 and just am thinking now about what i can do to make sure I can get a job as a LEO. I currently attend community college for high school. I've gotten weird looks over this, but this is not because i drop out, but because i chose to do it this way to get further ahead. Instead of a high school diploma though, i will get a GED and at least one associates degree. ANother path i may take, is to transfer at the end of my high school career to a 4 year college and get a bachelors in criminal justice, etc (I'm not sure what my best option for a degree is). If i chose this path, i wouldn't get my associates degree(s), but i would finish college 2 years ahead of most people. And then i may or may not get a masters, but I feel it may be a good idea in this competitive world. Let me know what you think. The agency i'd like to work for, is Buffalo PD, as it's near family. I want to become a detective eventually.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Stay away from ALL drugs and people who do drugs, maintain a good driving record, be wise with credit (when you are old enough), and obey the law. Graduate school is a good idea, I will be starting here shortly. Make sure you keep your grades up as well.
You want to succeed? Deserve it. Outwork everybody in sight. Sweat the small stuff. Sweat the big stuff. Whatever it takes, put your heart and soul into everything you do. Success is a Choice.

You seem to be doing fine.

You won't be able to start applying until you are 21, though, so no need to rush to get things done.

Police Departments don't care what you major in. Any degree will work just as well as Criminal Justice. If you will be graduating from college at 20 (with at least a year to go before you can apply) you might consider the military for a bit. That also looks good on applications.

You might also want to get involved with your local PD's Explorer Post.
