    Concealed Handgun License Bad?

Im applying for a police officer position at large police agency.

On my personal history statement there are roughly 100 yes or no questions, and yes check marks must be thoroughly explained on a supplemental form.

well between "have you ever viewed child pornography" and "have you ever been a chronic user of an alcoholic beverage" is "have you ever applied to carry a concealed weapon"

I have 3 concealed handgun licenses, one for Oregon (my residence), Washington (family) and Florida (more family). I am a firm believer in the second amendment and that every responsible citizen should own a gun.

Does this look bad on my application? I am going about this the legal way. Im not just putting a pistol in my pants and saying "screw you" to the law like some thugs out there. I attended the required NRA training and put in the class time as well. I had to undergo fingerprinting for each license and undergo a background check with references.

Nope, does not look bad at all.

Just list where you have them and you'll be fine. They would be concerned if you had been denied somewhere, or if you lied about them somehow, but I am aware of no department that would find that to be a problem.

And if one did, I wouldn't want to work there anyway.

If I am doing your background and find that you used to have a concealed carry permit in another state, that means I'm going to check in that state to see if there are or were any problems.
If you had one and lost it because of something stupid (though not necessarily something that got you arrested) that would be something I'd want to note on my background investigation.
