Here is something I really don't understand. I know that the Pennsylvania government determines the budget for PSP. I know this. However, why are they so confused about hiring people right now when they have a ton of vacancies and will have many more over the next 2 years? The way I understand it, they better do something soon, or they are going to be in a lot of trouble. I heard that many of PSP's members are at or getting to the age of retirement in the next 1-3 years. Surely they must do something to replace them, yes? After all, they can only train so many cadets per year.
Trying to understand the way PA does things is like trying to understand a woman. It will never happen.
Check their website and if they are testing, take it, assuming you meet the minimum requirements. Even if they aren't hiring you can never take too many tests and theirs is free to take, unlike local departments.
