    Online Gambling

I'm just curious to know how big of an issue online gambling is in backround checks. Is this something that could keep me from getting hired in law enforcement? I wouldn't say that I have a gambling problem, which I could see as being a red flag in a backround, but I have played poker and wagered small amounts ($10-$20) on sporting events from time to time for fun. For some reason, this never occured to me as being a possible issue until recently. So now I'm worried that I may have hindered my chances at a career in law enforcement. Thank you in advance to anyone that can answer my question.

Are you talking the annual superbowl grid wager or poker game with the boys every so often in the basemnent or hitting a casino? if so, I don't see a problem. That is a lot different than having a bookie.

Thank you for your reply. I am asking about using online gambling sites to play poker and place wagers on sporting events. As far as I know, it is illegal in the U.S. to play for real money on these sites, and I'm curious to know what kind of issues this may cause in the hiring process.

As long as what you do is legal and doesn't cause other problems in your life, you're fine.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine
