Background question

I have a concern about my background. I am 15 years old and besides walking on my neighbors property and stealing a pencil when I was 5 I have never done anything illegal such as drink or do drugs, however, I have had a friend since elementary school and this past year he's been telling me about all the drugs and illegal stuff he does. Most of the things he tells me is obviously BS but not all of it, like once he told me to go for a walk and he lit a joint and I sprinted away he then stopped and told me he was kidding. its been hard cutting ties with him because Ive known him for so long but if I cut ties with him do I still have a chance at becoming an LEO? I also plan on going to college and joining the military so I think that should help too. Thanks for your service and your time.

You are going to meet a countless number of people in your life who wheel and deal in sketchy things, just make sure you keep your head clean. Don't think that because you know someone who does drugs or are friends with someone who drinks that you will be unable to pursue law enforcement. Just make sure you do your best and stay out of trouble and you will be fine.

College and the military will help greatly with cutting the ties. People tend to naturally drift apart in those circumstances as new bonds and friendships are formed.

Stay on the straight and narrow, and obey your parents. Do well in school and always keep your goal in mind.
