    Backgrounds appeals for L.A.P.D

I apply for L.A.P.D and I was almost done with the process, I was just waiting for my background to be finish. I got a letter that I will have to appeal or withdraw my application due to the fact that I forgot to write 2 traffic tickets on my application. I'm not sure if I should appeal because L.A.P.D is not hiring much officers at this point and I feel they will just denied my appeal due to the budget crisis. Can any one give me some advice in the matter?

You do know that BI's in your case have nothing to do with the budget, right? And that BIs do not do their job differently because of a surplus or shortfall that they have nothing to do with? If you want the job, then appeal - if not, then don't. But don't try to wrap up your situation in a big conspiracy theory when the long and short of things is that you didn't put some tickets down, and the BI's aren't sure if it was because of your forgetfulness, or whether they were lies of omission.

Thank you for your advice. My plans are to appeal but I'm confuse because my mentor told me that there’s no appeal department right know because of the budget cut and the case manager told me that the appeal department meets once in a great while. Also they told me that if I don’t get the appeal granted I will be disqualified permanently from L.A.P.D. The case manager also told me that most appeals get denied.

Please appeal your disqualification...but let's go back..is law enforcement really the career for you because you are easily swayed from pursuing what you really want?!?!
There IS an appeal board, they DO meet regularly..BUT..your disqualification does not sound like you just omitted two traffic tickets...sounds like you have a permanent disqualification looming....call your BI and case manager again..it's not just tickets my friend...find out what the real issue is.

Law enforcement is what I was born to do and dream of doing. I'm just trying to see what is best for me at this time either to appeal of withdraw and apply at a later time. Base on what the case manager told me it was three questions that came out inconsistent they were minor things really nothing to be disqualified for but, I understand they have a policy about forgetting to write everything on your application.
