Hi I was wondering if I need to take the CJBAT before even thinking about applying to any department, or can I get a conditional acceptance based on CJBAT scores after applying? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Not sure how your state works but ours requires that you pass the CJBAT before they even allow you to start the application process for the academy.
(that may have just been the way ours worked though)
Well I live in Florida too so I assume that you are right ,but on the application it's not very clear. From what i read when you take the CJBAT ,and pass the results are only good for 6 month's, and i hear stories where it took up to 3 years to get a job with a pd. , and I wonder are people really taking the CJBAT over and over Just to keep it current till they get placement?
I was told that the CJBAT was good for 2 years. I would verify everything with your recruiter and not on what others say.
How long it takes to get hired out of the academy depends on what dept. are hiring, and how you rank next to the other hundreds of applicants. I havn't made it that far so I'm not much help past the application process. Haha
I got this information directly from the academy at PBSC ,but i will double check to make sure , and thanks for the input.
