    Ride Along

I am currently going through the background check/application process for a local police department (I've already done the background interview, cvsa test, they contacted 5 references and my boss, and came to my house and interviewed my fiance.) The only thing I have left to do before they decide whether or not to invite me to the board interview is a 4 hour ride along with a patrolmen. I don't believe that this is a part of most departments application process so I haven't been able to find much online about it.
I am just wondering what I should do and/or not do during my ride along to make a good impression. I plan on asking a little about the community, the academy, and the department but wasn't sure what else I should ask. And if there is anything that I shouldn't ask so as not to make a bad impression (besides the obvious such as "Have you ever shot anyone") that information would be appreciated too.
