    Internet questions?

I would like real background investigators/those with experience to respond and give solid answers (please). Then the thread can go down the gutter (very easy topic to crack jokes at!)

I am in one of many waiting periods, passed my oral boards and waiting for a background investigator to contact me. In the mean time my mind is going nuts on all the things that can go wrong (this is my first time through the process).
First question: Do City Police Backgrounders track internet history? If so what is the span of time? How?

Second question (contingent upon the first): Should I be worried about viewing legal internet pornography? Does it come into play in my background? Should I stop, cut back, or am I making a mountain out of a mole hill?

Additional information: I view legal internet porn on what I would consider a normal frequency, once a day, every other day, twice a day…. I was honest on my background questioner when it asked if I viewed internet pornography.
Thank you for your support and help!

No one here is going to disclose background investigation techniques on an open forum.

Having said that, police departments don't care about legal internet usage. If that's all you're worried about, relax.

Unless he THINKS it is legal ( as in of age) and it turns out they aren't. One needs to be VERY careful.

What you do on a legal internet site depicting people engaged in acts with circus animals and assorted ice cream toppings is your own business. But yes, the police are watching your internet viewing (more for the entertainment value than having to do with screening your background for employment).

On the other hand, if you start looking at kiddie porn or other illegal materials, expect guys in suits with small golden badges to show up at your doorstep. That could hurt your police application, too.
