I'm a junior in high school, and I technically qualify for a number of federal law enforcement student internships. My question is this: Which agency should I apply for (which one is friendliest to high school students) and what is the application process like? I know that for FBI I have to go before an oral board and submit my background for a top secret clearance but other than that, what should I expect? What kind of things to they look for in the background? Does anyone have any advice that would help me get the job?

Have you done any searches on here? There are a ton of threads on internships and that would likely be the best place to start and THEN start posting specific questions, for which you could not find answers.

Yeah, I did that and I didn't come up with anything on high school Federal internships. Good call on the background and the application process tho. I came up with some info on those, but not for my other questions.

I would love to help you out, but I'm just a trigger-puller. I avoid all that HR crap.
I will say that I have never heard of the US Marshals having high schoolers as interns. I have only seen the college variants.

All too often today, young people like yourself are too quick to use the internet to try to find all their answers to life's questions. What you should be doing is picking up a phone and calling the agencies you're interested in (all the big fed LE agencies have websites with their local phone numbers listed), and asking them directly. Some will only take college students, so be prepared to wait a few years if you want to intern with them.

On my third fed aganecy and I have never seen a high school intern anywhere. Always college kids.

I dont see any federal agency giving a slot to a high school student when there so many college applicants. You may want to check about being an "Explorer" with a local agency
