Question Need help determining how much of a setback I'm looking at

I've only been let go from a job once. It happened a couple months ago. Unfortunately it was the first day. Manager says I used inappropirate language. Apparently I let slip a curse word while fiddling with an overly complicated chair.

I held the job before that for over two years and I have very good references from my exsupervisors and the CEO.

Before that two year job I was in college getting my associate's degree.

Also, through high school and college I wasn't exactly a social creature. I didn't have many close friends at all. I'm worried I'll have hurdles with putting down references.

I've never done drugs and I don't even know where to find any. Hell, I don't even know what pot smells or looks like. I don't drink alcohol either. The only times I've ever drank alcohol was a couple times during New Years and one time on accident at a company party. I don't even drink coffee.

The worst trouble I've ever gotten into with the law is two speeding tickets.

I have very good credit. Last credit check came back with an 803 credit score. I've never missed a car payment nor a student loan payment.

Overall I'm a very straight arrow. How much of a setback do you all think I'm looking at?

Please be as honest as possible.

    Thanks,
    dave

You have no reason to worry. Getting fired from a job is not necessarily an automatic disqualifier. I work with a gentleman who was fired from another agency years before. He worked hard at another job, finished his advanced degree and 10 years later starting reapplying. His mistake was getting terminated from probationary duty for not following procedure. If he wasn't on probation, he would have merely been written up.

Be honest, be forthright. Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone is redeemable in someway.

The reason for firing you may have been appropriate but it would only a VERY minor speed bump in your application/background.
