Justification for quitting a job
Ok, so I just got this part time job so that I could make some extra money while going to school. I was told that the hours were very flexible. Me and a friend are doing it together but have found out (in only two weeks) that the hours are not as flexible as once believed, and that we are only going to get busier. Would I have to do a lot of explaining in the hiring process why I quit the job?
I haven't quit yet, but my reasons would be that it is becoming detrimental to my school work that needs to get done. My current priority has to be to school, and this job just doesn't pay enough to warrent me spending all this time and letting me grades slip. I am worried they won't like this for a couple reasons; first, it shows that I might not be able to handle a lot of responsibility. Why would they hire someone who can't balance school and a part time job? Second, quitting a job really quickly into it looks horrible, and I know employers don't like that.
I feel I am justified in leaving this job already, but what are the police going to think about it?
