Now heres a Doozy of Questions!

Hello guys, i am currently 24years old and looking for a career in LE. Ive always wanted to be a cop even as a kid, but for some reason my parents kept trying to steer me away from it. My parents always kept a lot from me growing up. At the age of 15-16 when i wanted to get a license, they said i wasn't allowed, when i wanted to get a job they said i wasn't allowed. Finally when i turned 18, (we lived in FL) we drove to NC and i got a drivers License???? Any questions asked by me were quickly ignored. They also let me get jobs.....Only in certain places. It wasn't until i applied for a job at walmart without my parents permission that i found out that i was an illegal.
And i was getting jobs using a fake SS my father provided for me somehow, that only worked in some places...
Well i got married at the age of 22 to my high-school sweetheart. But i wont become a US-Citizen until Jan 12, 2012.

    So here are my questions!
    1. Ive been reading previous posts and other websites, and there are states such as IL,CO,Maine,HI,VT,Alaska that will hire you if your a NON US-Citizen, you have to be a permanent Resident and be in the process for Citizenship. Which is that case that means me....Is this True? And why do some places do this and some don't?
    2. I have already applied for the police academy here at my local Community College, and on the Application for the School i only put the jobs ive had with my real SS# not the other one. Is this going to effect me in any way?
3.On the application to the school on the drug use section, i put that i never used any drugs. I tried MJ once. I was thinking about asking for my application back to change it and say i experimented with it once as a teenager. But is the College application that i turned in to enroll in the Police academy, Is that the application i need to worry about? OR is there another application that i will fill out when applying to a department where i can fix my first mistakes? Or do i need to ask for my school app back to make the changes?

Any information is much appreciated, thanks all..

    I don't know.

Yup. That's called "lying". Pray that it doesn't end your chances at getting a cop job.
3.On the application to the school on the drug use section, i put that i never used any drugs. I tried MJ once.
So, you lied again. I was thinking about asking for my application back to change it and say i experimented with it once as a teenager. But is the College application that i turned in to enroll in the Police academy, Is that the application i need to worry about?
At no point in time is it permissible for you, the potential police applicant to lie TO anyone, ABOUT anything, or ON any form.
OR is there another application that i will fill out when applying to a department where i can fix my first mistakes?
Those weren't "mistakes" but calling it that probably makes you feel better.
Or do i need to ask for my school app back to make the changes?
    What do YOU think?
Any information is much appreciated, thanks all..
    You're welcome.
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

One can polish a lying turd as much as one desires - in the end, no matter how shiny it is, it's still a lying turd...

Clearly, your own behavior is not your responsibility. Choosing to lie simply makes you normal, not a liar.

Just tell the agency to which you are applying that you provided to them all the information you thought would help you get hired, but left off anything "extra" you felt they didn't need to know about.

I'm sure they will understand. Good luck.

I am sorry you do not like the answers to your questions. They were both honest and and sincere. Reading your post, I am not entirely sure you will be returning. However, should you return, I trust you will make a better effort to be respectful or you will immediately be banned.

Oh, and by the way, the President ADMITTED doing marijuana, while you lied about it. Can you see the trivial difference?

I didn't see anyone saying they were better than you.

I hope it steers you away from becoming a police officer, that is a good thing.

And no, I didn't forget that our President admitted to smoking, and with your attitude towards that fact, it proves my point I have been saying all along. How can we convince our young people that drugs are bad and you shouldn't do it, when we have leader after leader doing it.

    That's outstanding!

I would love to be a fly on the wall, when you ask for that first report back, (should you get hired), because your not sure if it was fully based in reality. While not good for law enforcement, I'm guessing it would be great for you to watch the Sgt's head explode. You have obviously been overprotected to this point in life.

I haven't seen anyone being rude or running you down at all. There is just no room for ANY kind of embellishment or glossing over the facts. The lawyers are just too good, and fiction isn't a part of the job description.

We just tell it like it is. Clearly, that's not what you wanted.

Yes, actually. There are 2 choices - lies & truth. You didn't tell the truth, so...

You're not running for President. You want to be a cop. Cop standards are significantly higher.

Ok, I think this has gone about as far as it is going to go.

You know dgsm24, you can always head south of the border. I am sure they will be happy to hire you on down there. We really try to value integrity up here.
