Question flunked phys - can redo?

I was recently told that I will not be considered as a canidate cuz of a dr.s report that said I had back pain and problems. Well, that was one time incident and I have not had any pain , nothing for over a year.I am going back to my dr. so he can do all the tests, etc again and see what he says. I was wondering if anyone has ever appealed a denial and won? Is there any thing I can do?
The dr for that dept stated that he thought it would impede my ability to be an officer. I was in the Marines for 10 years and I work as a loader so I lift pretty heavy stuff everyday. I don't see it as a problem considering it only happened hat one for a short period and has ever reocurred. Any info given would be appreciated.

They failed you due to a medical exam and not the physical exam??? Right??

Call the dept. and ask. Never heard of something like that being enough to DQ someone, but every dept. is different.

The main concern is preexisting conditions that are later claimed as work injuries and people want $$.

Or that you still have a back problem and are trying to hide it. ( this is not an accusation) Dept's need to be very careful about any POSSIBLE medical/mental health issues on new hires.
