    Questions Please Help!!!!!!

    Good Day!

I am presently applying for the RCMP & OPP and trying to learn as much as I can! There are numerous interviews I am trying to prepare for. I was hoping I could get as much help as possible from experienced officers. I have asked these same questions to some current Mounties too.

    I would sincerely appreciate if you could share the following;

    1) Why Policing as a career exactly? Why a state, regional or federal service? Why did you make the choice to be at the department you are at now?

    2) What do you like most about your work?

3)a) What do you like least about your work? What are the biggest downsides?

b)if you could change 2 things about your job...what would they be?

4)If you could go back to your initial recruitment process what would you do differently?

5)What did you do to prepare for the recruitment process?

    6) What strengths do you think you bring to the job?

    7) What do you feel you needed to work on most as a rookie?

    8) How does your family deal/feel about your job/shift work?

    9) What would be your number 1 piece of advice for a hopeful recruit?

I am grateful for your help!

    Most Respectfully,

    A hopeful,

    Jayce

It seems to me that you are only trying to get the answers other officers have used to pass on as your own, I know that these questions are ones that you will have to come up with yourself, they are about you , and they want YOUR answer not mine or any other officer here answers. Just take time and study and you should be fine, just be honest, if you can not for the life of you come up with a answer ask to go back to the question there is nothing wrong with that.

I will tell you though, I was the same way, very scared and worried, but look I did fine and now working on a service in Ontario Canada, and love every second of it.
    good luck.

    Constable...

These questions are also geared toward peoeple in the service.

I can not answer all these questions myself as I am not yet an Officer. Nonetheless, I am confident enough in my own wants and needs not to have to parrot anothers.

However, you are the exact kind of person I was looking to learn from!!!

May I ask please what Community you serve, at what Dept?
I would love to learn from your experiences in general!

Why exactly are you "loving every minute of it?" How old are you? Do you have an education in CJ? How competitive is it in you dept? How long have you been PO?

    Most Respectfully,

    Jayce
