    Need some advice

I have recently applied to a county sheriffs department but the slot was already filled before they got to me so the job was closed. Now just under a month later they have reopened the job so i am back in the running again, but here is the problem. I was involved in a car wreck last Thursday night, (ruled not my fault, other driver was found to have narcotics on him and was using them) while i am physically fit to pass PT test under normal conditions. I have some injuries, temporary as they may be i am out of commission for a few weeks. So do i take a chance and resubmit my application and risk not being cleared to take the PT test? Would that scenario reflect poorly on me in the future. Wouldn't be an issue, i could just wait till they hire again but personnel department tells me the usually only hire once a year so i would have a long wait.

You can always withdraw an application.

So? Then you just don't take the test.

I would suggest doing the application. You have a chance that the PT test will be scheduled to soon but the same chance it won't. Don't worry about what might happen, just be sure to plan for it. If they do schedule the test before you are 100% capable let them know. If they truely are interested in you they might give you an extension.

You never know what "might" happen, so why give yourself an ulcer worrying about it.
