Passed the Written...Question about Oral Board

Hello everyone. I just passed my written board and am off to the Oral board at the end of this month (October). Seems as if there is about a month delay between each step with this department, so if I continue to move through, should be another 3-4 months or so to completion.

Anyhow, as I've had plenty of time to ponder my life over and over again with the poly questions that I've been given, there was a couple of things that I forgot to mention on my initial application. I don't think that they are disqualifiers, but I don't want to be thinking about them by chance during the poly and fail unnecessarily.

During the written exam, the conducting trainer, which I believe will be the BI, said that the Oral Board would be the last chance to mention anything that may have been missed on the initial application, so to be sure to be honest about everything.

My question is this. Should I wait until the Oral Board to mention these last two things, or should I call ahead of time and speak to him before the Oral Board? I was thinking beforehand, as I don't really want to sideline the Oral Board, but he didn't say that during the Written.

    Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Personally, I would call now and ask if you should disclose it now or wait until the Oral Board.

Really depends what those few things are. Never hurts to disclose them ahead of time if you can.

Thanks for the quick responses. I was thinking the same thing along the lines of giving the BI a call and speaking prior to the Oral Board.

The two things are work related. I've been at the same sales job for over 11 years. And the first is related to paint product sales samples. We give credits and samples out to prospective customers for free, and use product as a training tool with our management and sales reps. On two separate occasions, I've also given credit for paint samples and used them in my home as well. Mainly to try out product that is new or that I have never used so that I can talk to it a little easier when selling it. I guess this is a bit of a grey area since I'm not actually paying for the product, but we do give out for free to prospective customers and for our own formal training classes. I figured I'd disclose it anyway as I really have nothing to hide.

The second is with respect to my company vehicle. I pay a fee every month for use of my company vehicle and unlimited gasoline/mileage. My spouse can also drive it as well. On two occasions, she has wanted to use the company vehicle to drive out of city for safety reasons, which is perfectly fine. So I used our own personal vehicle for work. I filled both tanks up with the company gas card, since i was driving the other for work use. Even though I technically pay for the unlimited use of the vehicle and gas each month, so there was no discrepancy with the company, I did reimburse the company for the two tanks of gas by not using the card the next couple of times in the company vehicle.

Anyhow, these are the two issues. Maybe I'm drilling these issues down too much in my mind. Thoughts?

I would really like for this to work out, so I'm trying to ensure that I don't trip up on anything along the way. Thanks again for the input.

Defintiely things you will want to bring up at the "oral board", as they are both issues of theft... It can't hurt to call ahead and alert them of these things, but you will most likely need to remind them of it again at this board appt to be safe...

I'm a little confused, and maybe it's just the terminolgy, but is this "oral board" a polygraph test or an oral interview...?

Thanks for the response. The Oral Board is the actual interview. The Polygraph is the next step after the interview. I wasn't able to get a hold of the BI today, but he'll be back next week. Probably best to type up and send to him via email, that way they can add it to my file. I will talk to him first though.
