so I should just forget about this department and move on? Or is there anything I can do?

Perhaps you need to take that stick out of your ass. You want to get into this career field, you'd better learn to accept criticism without getting your panties in a bunch.
You know nothing about either one of us or how we work, so I suggest you take this time to learn when to watch your mouth. If not, I foresee you having a very short stay here.

"Sir, you need to get back in the truck now! I don't need both of you out here. Thank you!"

Mistakes are accidental; sounds like you went head to head with an integrity issue and lost.
Unfortunately for you, most agencies (at least the ones out here) ask which other LE agencies you've applied to in the past. They contact the other agency to find out what happened in the process and why you weren't selected.
You may have screwed the pooch on this one.

Like the sarge said conscious decisions to leave or omit information is NOT a mistake.

well it was just that I was unsure about the info, what to include and what not to include, what constitutes as a traffic violation and what doesn’t i.e. convictions, dismissals, supervision, seatbelt tickets, excessive horn beeping. This may be easy for you guys because you are police men but I wasn’t sure about it. It was my first app and test I have ever done. I just can’t believe that that makes me look like a bad person or that could be a final determining factor if I would be a good police officer or not. Just got result back this morning for a another list I made Ill fill the app out perfectly and Ill let you guys know what happens ,other wise I’m not going to quite trying.
You live you learn is the old saying huh...?
Well I hate to tell you this, but chances are you are screwed... I received my letter in the mail yesterday that I was DQ'd because I didn't list a previous part time job, and a traffic violation on my application, but told the BI about during my BI interview...
Because of these ommissions, whether purposeful or not, I've been DQ'd from this department and cannot reaaply there for 3 years...
Pretty shitty reason to be DQ'd if you ask me, but it is what it is...![]()
I'll tell you what I told our polygraph examiner today as I was working through a stack of applicants. Discrepancies between the info on an application and what I find on a criminal or driving history is one of two things: intentional or accidental omission. If it's intentional, you are out.
If it is accidental, then I have to think to myself, if you are hired and respond to an incident and have to write a report about said incident, are you going to 'forget' pertinent facts in your report?
Any department is going to be hypercritical with their hiring, including scrutinizing every slip of info you provide, because they can afford to. For every applicant that submits an app that is incomplete or has misspelled words, there are two apps behind it that don't/aren't. In other words, the incompetence theory kicks in, and you are out.

And it's plainly obvious that bad applicants get hired as well. Just watch the news reports about the bad cops out there.
I'm certainly in the "sour grapes" mode at this point, but at the end of the day a very very small part of me is glad I didn't get this job, as the residency requirement was not appealing at all. That said it's a miniscule part of me that thinks this way.
Time to look for the next testing exam now.
I realize that, I moved on and am testing in other dept. cant give up on the first try. Just had other LEO's telling me that I messed up my chances for ever, or for any dept because they check all dept you previously applied to. After talking to some state troopers and hiring boards, that isn’t the case at all.
