I tried on about all of the plain black boots there. I went with the Ariat 35501. They are comfy but only time will tell.
Ok guys well tomorrow is the day.
I leave RP in the Hands of CoC and Sarge.
Dear god...I pity Greg.
See yall in a week!!!

Be good. Have fun. I'll be down in November for inservice. I'll check on you. Be Safe.
"DON'T TOUCH THE TROOPER!"
Howdy dart, Recruit School is actually going by faster than anticipated. A week from today we get hit with OC! Yee haw! It's going good though we are really coming together. Of course we're all looking forward to April 9th. We got to see y'alls video. Very impressive.
So how is FTO going? Hopefully you're having a good time. I'm sure you are. Now that academy classes have been postponed, who knows where we'll end up. Be safe out there.
I actually went and had my poly done on monday, I don't understand why they would continue the process if the academy was too be postponed for as long as it sounds. I guess I will see if Austin calls or sends a letter in the next few weeks. Having lasik done friday dec. 4th, my uncorrected vision is right over 20/200. Keep up the good work recruits, you guys make the process seem much less stressful knowing that there are people out there that have been through it and succeeded.
That's just great. I have been waiting for things to come together so I could get back to Texas, and this goes down. This is THE department I want to work for. I haven't even applied anywhere else. I wonder if they would consider me more if I offer to train out of a tent?![]()
I guess it is a good thing I'm hard headed. I'm going to see the application phase through and see where things lay when they get around to finally putting me through my paces. I'm going to ride the wave of optimism that they still show 2010 on the main web site as well as the continued applicant testing.
Remember guys that TXDPS has a nice little program called the internship...just because the academies don't start till (Insert date here) you might get picked up for the internship and be a paid employee hanging out with a bunch of troopers monday through friday

Good luck guys.

That would certainly help, but I wonder how long they would do the intern thing. If they wait for the new academy to be built in FLorence (I hear it is due to be ready late 2010-early 2011 - scuttlebutt only!) it could be a while. After a few weeks of learning the inner workings of the department, would it grow old? I need to learn a bit more about it I guess.
In the mean time I am going to hope that they wouldn't hold off on doing an academy for a whole year or more. Well, that and trying to get hired in the first place!
