I'm currently working for a private security company and serving on an executive protection detail.

I've never worked as a security guard my entire life. Regardless, I'm entitled to an opinion.

In my experience, there are two types of companies that do "Executive Protection."

There are the ones that hire ex SF, ex Secret Service, and ex Diplomatic Security Service people exclusively...

...and then there are the ones who hire people with no experience and took a mail order course in "Executive Protection."

All I was trying to say is that there is a difference between providing advice/constructive criticism and insulting people. I struggle to find anything productive from the latter.

It seems some people just look for a chance to insult someone else.

Your vast experience in Law Enforcement hiring practices and policies as well as your valuable insight as a member of LE who has particpated in the hiring process is certainly quite invaluable to the board here. :rolleyes:

Getting into LE is HIGHLY , HIGHLY competitive. Anything a person has done CAN have an impact on them being hired. You cannot back and undo what has already been done so our advice is to not participate in certain behaviour and activities or lifestyle choices.

Sure , we have all " comitted crimes " as a youth and even into college but if one has an earnest desire to get into LE , they should be able to deomonstrate some self control and maturity in their life that they will NEED to be able to demonstrate again and again as a member of LE.
